Greetings! My name is Natalie, and I am a freelance writer based in the United Kingdom. My portfolio encompasses both digital and print media, with a particular emphasis on themes such as feminism, queerness and gender, current affairs, and digital subcultures.
I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Gender (Sexuality) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and I obtained my undergraduate degree in BA International Relations from the University of Exeter.
My research has primarily concentrated on topics including International Human Rights Law, International Surrogacy, Disability Rights, Refugees, Pornography and Sex Work. My thesis examined the ways in which individuals identifying as 'involuntary celibates' (Incels) contribute to the perpetuation of white nationalism through the use of internet memes. Furthermore, I presented my research on 'Monster Pornography' at the Engenderings Conference held by the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2021.
During my undergraduate studies, my dissertation examined Sex Education Policy in the United Kingdom through a comparative lens. Furthermore, I successfully initiated broader changes within the university to combat misogyny, leveraging my research in my role as a Student Community Warden.
In my downtime, I dive into political podcasts, devour books, enjoy board games with pals, and whip up culinary concoctions that might just be masterpieces (or a disaster)...
